Eligibility

Associate Membership

Definition:

  • Any former football player of Auburn University who did not receive a letter due to injury or lack of playing time, but who otherwise was a member in good standing of the football team, is eligible to apply for associate membership.
  • Student managers and trainers who received a varsity letter during their time at Auburn are also eligible to apply for associate membership.
  • Associate members shall not be eligible to serve as officers or directors or have voting rights in the organization.

Application

  • Associate applications require the signature and letters of recommendation from 3 active members of the Auburn Football Lettermen Club.
  • Potential Associate members apply on their own behalf, or if an existing member would like to submit someone for consideration, you may fill out the application form on their behalf and submit it along with a letter of recommendation from yourself and two additional active members.
  • All applications for associate membership shall be submitted for review and recommendation to the AFLC Board of Directors.
  • Any applicant shall be eligible for associate membership upon affirmative vote by the Board of Directors.

Honorary Membership

Definition

  • A person, who was not a student member of the football team but who over their lifetime, has demonstrated continuous, faithful, and unselfish support to the Athletic Department and the Auburn University football program, is eligible for nomination to receive the Award of Honor membership.
  • Award of Honor recipients shall not be eligible to serve as officers or directors or have voting rights in the organization.

Nomination

  • Honorary members must be nominated by an active AFLC member.
  • Nomination form should be submitted by the nominating member along with letters of recommendation from the nominating member and two additional active members.
  • This membership is nominated and voted on annually at the winter board meeting by the AFLC Board of Directors.
  • No more than 2 recipients are elected for this membership in any one calendar year of the club.
